Here's a tour of the bike lanes near where I live!

Here is the bicycle lane symbol. It is a picture of a stick man riding a bicycle. You have to use your imagination a little bit.

Oh, gosh- another cycling man symbol! Can't you see it? And instead of a solid reflective line between me and traffic, there are spray paint dashes.

Sometimes they tar right over the bike lane line.

And sometimes they dig large holes and spread gravel all around.
Hmm.. I wonder how they do it in Copenhagen..

Photos from Copenhagencyclechic.comHmm.. why am I not so excited about my bike lanes anymore?

surely, better times are ahead, RJ, looking at what's happening all over the US, big and small. It's moving, feel the wave.. :)
(I'm convinced it will get much better within your lifetime)

Hi. Found you through Copenhagen Cycle Chic and enjoyed tooling around your blog this morning. We visit many of the same places and I found some new ones through your blog - thanks! Also - we have an Xtracycle in the family, so it was fun to look at those posts as well. Keep up the good work! I've bookmarked "An Adventure..." for future visits.

Thanks for the encouragement, Marc. I recently was elected to my local Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee-- so hopefully I can make a difference there!
Sigird- I'm always glad to meet a fellow Xtracycler! (Did you know that they're sold out for the next 2 months??)
I know how you feel - our bicycle lanes are very scarce here in Atlanta, and often just disappear! I hope someday we have amazing lanes like Copenhagen :)
I was just thinking about how worn the bike lanes look in Ann Arbor MI, a somewhat bike friendly town. Chances are still good you will get flattened by a car or truck while riding here, but I think we are going the right direction. Keep up the good posts!
